Group Presentation Analysis

Group Presentation Analysis!! ☺

When looking at the 3 groups, you need to take into account the topics that were discussed in each group and how everyone presented it. As well as, from the audience's perspective, how well the group got along, and made an effort to bond with each other to make it a higher quality presentation. Firstly, I would like to discuss the class leaders Maria and Samuel. they did an excellent job opening up each presentation with including every member's name and what they cover, as well as closing out the presentations with effectively summarizing what was said.

Group 1

Starting with a first hand experience I will be discussing Group 1 first. Group 1 explained chapters 1 through 4; the members in Group 1 are Jessenia, Jaely, Rem, Kevin, Matthew (me), Anabella, Gabriella, Jessica, Darleny, and Naomi. Overall, we all got along and that made the experience better, and undoubtedly made our presentation to the class better.
Our main topic that was the center of our information was the general consensus of the basics of a presentation. Overall, as a presentation we had an appreciable presentation. I believe that when it comes to our group, we had an engaging presentation, starting off with Jessenia's emojis, Jaely's gifs, and everyone having photos throughout their portion of the presentation. We ensured that while we were up there we would have fun, even if we were nervous. Group 's information was informative, engaging, and our different sections did not drag on with an over-influx of knowledge that would leave the audience bored and uninterested. For Group 1's analysis I will be going slightly more in depth due to the fact that I was apart of this group so I got a first hand account into more than just what was shown to the class. With group 1, we all wanted to meet in person prior to our presentation to figure out the logistics with the presentation such as, who was going in what order, what sections would everyone have, and to get a vibe to see how everyone else was feeling about the presentation. The scheduled day was during class time and it made the project less daunting, now that the logistics were figured out and I had a sense of where everyone's head was at, and how everyone's personality was like so I could bounce off of that. To my personal belief, this is what makes Group 1 stand out amongst the groups because we all clicked together and got along, so it seemed like one group, whereas in some other cases the groups felt isolated into cliques.

Group 2

Moreover, going into Group 2, I will be taking an outsider's perspective in my analysis due to this not being my group. Group 2 explained chapters 5 through 9; the members in Group 2 are Bryan, Alexander, Mayla, Jorel, Tania, Kayli, Bryan, Kenny, Maria, and Ana. Group 2 overall had an amiable presentation. What made this group stand out to me, was the visual presentation that they gave to the audience. The color palette being consistent was something that I quite enjoyed, as it provided consistency, as well as intrigued the audience in and made you want to listen to what they had to say.

In my opinion,  they kept their sections quite short and sweet, yet effective. At times they seemed unsure of themselves, and from what I assume this comes from a potential lack of communication. From my point of view, they pulled it together and delivered a virtuous presentation, that had excellent points such as the importance of research and selecting quality trustable sources, having proper structure, proper delivery, proper language, and the use of visual stimulation. Their information was fairly cohesive, and in their delivery, which is an essential aspect to a well thought out presentation, they had a pretty well understanding off their subject, seeming very knowledgeable in their note thing for the presentation. In addition to the note taking, the information the they chose was the correct information due to the fact that it was all highly important and did not seem mundane and all had a purpose. Group 2 did an exemplary job even being commended by the professor that information that was included in the presentation was important, and was commended on including that in there. Yes, they had their mess ups, nevertheless they did not hinder the quality of the presentation, and manage to grab the audience's attention once gain which I believe deserves to be noted.

Group 3

Furthermore, moving into the final group, group 3, I will be continuing the outsider's point of view. In this group we have Amanda, Ashley, Stephanie, Amber, Bethany, Carlos, Javier, Laura, Adrian, and Marc and they explained Chapter 10-12 + the Appendix . Something that we all cannot avoid is the technical difficulties that were had at the beginning of the presentation, and decreased throughout the presentation. Unfortunately for both the presenters and the audience, it threw everyone off with the back and forth between 2 powerpoints. This seemed to throw the presenters off their game due to figuring it out for around 5 minutes, however I must give credit where credit is due. They managed to pull out a presentation that was effective with their information, their delivery, and their confidence. Although, for me personally the presentation was lengthy, specifically at one point in the presentation it seemed to drag on for a bit during one of the presenters, however the presenter's after knew how to pick up the pace and effectively get the audience back on track. Overall, I would like to say that I learned a lot with group 3,  as well as the other two groups. Congratulations to everyone!! We did it!!!

Overall I learned a lot with all three groups and truly believe that the information that was given, will be beneficial in my future in this class, as well as my future career. With Group 1, my group, I learned the introductions to public speaking, how to overcome presentation jitters, as well as the origins of public speaking.
